Sonia Boyce will participate in ‘Figure + Ground’, an exhibition of 19 leading artists who work with film and moving image works, at Hauser & Wirth London. The exhibition features a selection of single-channel video works from the gallery’s roster of artists whose work can be interpreted as exploring the dynamic between figure and ground in diverse ways and spotlights the development of moving image from the late 1960s to today. From film to the advent of analogue (single-channel) video technologies during the early 1970s onwards, and later digital video, this technological expansion engendered a new genre of artistic production.

The exhibition opens during London Gallery Weekend and will transform the North Gallery into a screening room.

Oh Adelaide (with Ain Bailey) will feature in Programme One, alongside the work of Mark Bradford, Lorna Simpson, Cindy Sherman, David Hammons, William Kentridge, and Glenn Ligon, amongst others.
